New to #BeeWell?

Secondary schools can still sign up for year two of the programme.

In year one, over 100 secondary schools across Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton (HIPS) took part and we heard from over 22,000 young people!

By taking part, we can all help to improve young people’s lives and shape national policy.

What do we ask of schools?

We ask schools to facilitate the delivery of the #BeeWell survey during the autumn term. The survey: takes around 20-30 minutes for students to complete via an online form; for the second year of the survey (Autumn term 2024) students in Years 9 and 10 will be participating.

What does #BeeWell provide in return?

We provide private reports outlining the results for each participating school and one-to-one follow-up meetings to help schools interpret and act on the data. We also provide ‘neighbourhood’ results – untraceable to participating schools and published according to where young people live – which our coalition of partners across civil society, local government and health commit to acting on.

About the survey

Delivered online, in school between September and December each year, students are asked about their life and their feelings, as well as health and routines, hobbies and entertainment, relationships, school, the environment and their views of the future.

From the following January, participating schools are provided with private reports and follow-up meetings to help schools interpret and act on the data, supporting them to develop targeted interventions to improve the wellbeing of students according to what their students want and need.

We also provide ‘neighbourhood’ results, untraceable to participating schools and published according to where young people live, which our coalition of partners are committed to acting on. Your school results are never shared with local authorities or other third parties.

In the first year of the programme in Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, Southampton (HIPS), we surveyed Years 8 & 10 pupils. In 2024, we will survey year 9 and 10 students.
