Vibrant, diverse and with a population of 2.8 million, Greater Manchester is where #BeeWell began in 2019. Since then, the #BeeWell survey has been delivered annually and is now in it’s 5th year of data! You can find out more and read the full report here.
The Greater Manchester (GM) city-region in the north of England has a number of key strengths that made it an ideal location to launch #BeeWell. The Greater Manchester Combined Authority – who lead on delivering #BeeWell – had an existing commitment to improving young people’s young wellbeing under the direction of Mayor Andy Burnham, who offered his support for #BeeWell.
The region’s proactive young people, schools, voluntary sector and 10 local authorities have all been fundamental in shaping #BeeWell from the very start.
Our success in GM has led to #BeeWell’s expansion to deliver the programme in a second location: Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton, in the south of England, from 2023.
What have we learnt so far?
The #BeeWell survey has collected responses from almost 100,000 young people in 192 secondary schools across Greater Manchester. Our interactive Data Hive allows you to explore the data trends by neighbourhood.
