In autumn 2025, we surveyed Years 7, 8 and 10, following feedback from schools and partners across the city-region. In the 2026/27 academic year, we will survey Years 7, 9 and 10.
Alternative provisions, pupil referral units and special schools also have the option to survey additional year groups, to ensure you can hear from at least ten pupils and receive school-level insights in your survey feedback.
For more information on taking part in #BeeWell in 2026/27, make sure to read our Welcome Pack:
And a full timeline for the 2026/27 academic year can be found here.
The first step your school needs to take to participate in this year’s survey – send out parent/carer opt-out forms for the year groups taking part!
In order for your school to take part in the survey window as soon as it opens (12th October), you need to send parent/carer info-sheet and opt-out forms by Wednesday 16th September 2026. Parent/carers need two weeks notice to decide if they’d like to opt-out their child, then we’ll provide your list of individual pupil passwords with no passwords assigned to pupils that have been opted-out.
If your school is surveying additional year groups (open to AP/PRUs and special schools), the opt-out form you need to send is different. Please contact us directly for a version you can send.
You should’ve received the forms you need from us in early September, but copies can also be found and downloaded below:

Pupil password distribution guide
In the week commencing 5th October 2026 (or, after enough time has passed since your school sent out the parent/carer opt-out forms) you will be sent your list of pupil passwords. Pupils need these passwords in order to log on to the survey. We have produced a new guide this year that demonstrates how you can use Excel to merge your pupil password list with class lists, for example, to make it easier to distribute passwords between classes and pupils.
You can read the Pupil Password Distribution Guide here, or watch a video demonstration below on how this works. You may also want to contact your school’s IT support to see if they can help you with this.
For any other questions about survey delivery, we would love to hear from you and see how we can best support you to take part. Get in touch with beewell@manchester.ac.uk.
