#BeeWell 2024 school survey reaches 15,000 responses already – with more to come!

#BeeWell survey season is underway! Young people in schools across Greater Manchester and in Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton (HIPS) are in the process of adding their voices to this year’s #BeeWell programme by completing their surveys. For the first time in HIPS, Electively Home Educated young people are taking part, and in Greater Manchester Year 7s are joining in. This year’s survey window closes on 29th November. You can find more information about the survey here.

From schools and teachers to parents and communities, thanks to everyone helping to support this process and continuing to spread the word!

What do schools say about #BeeWell?

#BeeWell Chair and Co-Founder David Gregson met with John Rowlands, Executive Principal of Greater Manchester Academies Trust and Sue Watmough, Headteacher of Manchester Communication Academy to talk about the impact that #BeeWell has had for them.

“Being able to use #BeeWell as a school leader can be really empowering, it can really empower you to make a difference in the right places at the right time. And it can empower you to do things differently” – Sue Watmough

SPACES webinar captured creatively by poet SAF-S2E

As part of our recent focus on hobbies, we were lucky enough to have poet SAF S2E produce a powerful and heartfelt original piece in response to our latest event.

The poem captures the themes of our webinar about ‘Supporting Participation in Arts, Culture, Entertainment and Sports’ (SPACES). During the event we heard insights from the #BeeWell data, learned about the possibilities for evaluation and efficacy studies that #BeeWell enables, and we heard from young people and partners about their engaging youth programmes. We enjoyed a rich discussion about how to best support young people to take part in arts, culture, entertainment and sports in meaningful and empowering ways.

Read the full poem and more about the event here.

Coalition of partners meetings and latest 6-month Progress Report

Please save the date for our national coalition of partners meeting which will take place online on Thursday 23rd January at 4pm.

In case you missed our two local coalition of partners meetings in October, you can read more about the sessions here.

Our latest Progress Report provides a summary of our work since May and some of the impactful work being delivered by our network of partners. Read our Progress Report here.

We are grateful to the huge community of people involved with #BeeWell! We celebrate your passion for improving the wellbeing of young people and your hard work in using the #BeeWell data to drive forwards change.

Centre for Youth Voice: call for examples of youth voice work

The Centre for Youth Voice are launching a free Youth Voice Observatory: an online data bank where you can find, search for, and analyse information about youth voice activities from across the UK. They are calling for submissions of examples of youth voice work. We know our network is using the #BeeWell data to do some really impactful things. So we’d love to see examples submitted from our partners about how your organisation is centring young people’s voices and supporting young people to drive decision-making.
