The new, national #BeeWell website is now live
To mark the exciting expansion of #BeeWell to Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton & the Isle of Wight, we’ve launched our new, national website! Take a look at the new site for content about the two locations, #BeeWell’s impact & more: beewellprogramme.org. Please note, the gmbeewell.org site will remain live in this transition phase.
Call to action – support #BeeWell Week 2023
We are delighted to share that Greater Manchester’s #BeeWell Festival will be taking place again in September 2023. The event will see GM schools join us for a day of wellbeing boosting activities, exploring some of the key themes from the #BeeWell dataset. This year, we want to run #BeeWell Week alongside the Festival, calling on our partners, schools and more to host wellbeing related activities and communications throughout the w/c 18th-22nd September.
We’re looking for support from our fantastic Coalition of Partners with the festival and the week, whether that is getting involved in the day, running #BeeWell activities in your own organisations or helping with comms. If you want to find out more and get involved, contact beewell@manchester.ac.uk to let us know.
Get involved in the next GM Community of Practice on gender & wellbeing
Our partners Plan-UK have been leading on a Greater Manchester wide community of practice focused on wellbeing and gender, in response to the #BeeWell findings on inequalities in the data. The third of these sessions, including an interactive session on body image, will be taking place next week, in-person at The Lowry in Salford! Get involved on the 12th July, 1:30-5pm: Fostering Positive Body Image Among Young People – GM Community of Practice Tickets, Wed 12 Jul 2023 at 13:30 | Eventbrite.
Gathering momentum in Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton (HIPS)
We have been delighted with the interest shown in #BeeWell so far and with the number of schools that have already signed up to complete the survey. The team have been out and about introducing #BeeWell at a wide range of team meetings and events. The HIPS #BeeWell team have met with 150 young people in a series of workshops at 15 pathfinder schools. Pupils from years 8, 9 and 10 have told us what wellbeing means to them, what makes them thrive and what influences their wellbeing, and their views have directly shaped the questions in the survey. This week we are holding a workshop at a special school to tailor the shorter version of the #BeeWell survey so that as many young people in our region can have their voice heard.
If you’d like to find out how you can get more involved or meet the team, please contact Hiow.beewell@hants.gov.uk.
