#BeeWell’s Young Researchers visit the Data Visualisation Observatory
Year 10 pupils from Greater Manchester enjoyed a trip to The University of Manchester’s Data Visualisation Observatory in June. The young people have been taking part in the annual #BeeWell Young Researchers Programme, which introduces them to the world of academic research, and puts the #BeeWell data in their hands. On this trip, the group explored their programme data in 3D and had conversations about supporting young people’s wellbeing.

The power of communities for LGBTQIA+ young people
To celebrate Pride month, our partners at BeeProud shared insights and sneak previews of their initial findings and advice for those working with young LGBTQIA+ people. BeeProud is a project which has built on #BeeWell findings and explored the experiences of LGBTQIA+ young people aged 16-19 living in Greater Manchester. A strong theme highlighted by the young people involved is the importance of feeling safe and understood, especially valuing a sense of community, support and having role models to look up to.
“Having visible role models in our schools and communities shows that we can succeed and be happy as our true selves”

#BeeWell and The Centre for Education and Youth research partnership – callout for participants
A new research project from #BeeWell and The Centre for Education and Youth, working with the Big Local Trust, will explore the relationship between young people’s wellbeing across a range of measures and the opportunities and community in the area in which they live and study. The project is primarily focused on 17 neighbourhoods in Greater Manchester.
As part of the research, the project is inviting young people, youth workers and school leaders to get involved. This is a paid opportunity for young people.
