#BeeWell Wednesday – February newsletter

Last chance to take part in the #BeeWell Stakeholder survey – please help us to improve how you work with #BeeWell!

Our evaluation partners, Renaisi, are conducting a stakeholder survey to better understand how organisations and partners engage with the #BeeWell programme. We would love to get your feedback to help us understand what improvements we can make to #BeeWell. In particular, we are keen to learn more about your interactions with the #BeeWell data and broader programme to understand what’s happened as a result and how we can support your efforts better in the future.

The survey closes this Friday, 3rd February, and we hope to hear from as many partners or organisations who have worked with #BeeWell as possible! Find the full survey here.

Join us to preview the new findings from this year’s #BeeWell survey data

On the 30th March, we will be holding an in-person event to preview the new, 2022 #BeeWell survey findings and update of the neighbourhood dashboard. We will explore the key findings from the surveys completed by 35,000 Year 9 and 10 pupils across Greater Manchester, and bring together our partners to explore what we can all do to support young people’s wellbeing.

Sign-up to join us, at a Manchester city-centre location, here!

If you can’t make it on this date, we will also be holding our regular Coalition of Partners virtual meeting two weeks after. If you don’t usually attend these meetings but would like to get involved, please contact beewell@manchester.ac.uk.

#BeeWell Youth Steering Group Commissioning: What happened?

You may recall that, in response to the 2021 survey findings, the #BeeWell Youth Steering Group (YSG) commissioned two activities with funding provided by Big Change to support young people’s wellbeing. The YSG decided to focus upon activities to get young people active, and to strengthen feelings of community connection. We are thrilled to share the outputs of these activities, with two fantastic projects for young people led by Social AdVentures and Pathfinders UK.

We are very grateful for the hard work of the YSG who were involved in the process from beginning to end, designing the tender and appointing the successful applicants for these micro-grants. Read this short blog post for more detail on what happened!

#BeeWell schools are now exploring their Year 2 data!

In mid-January, schools received their updated #BeeWell dashboards and/or survey findings reports for Year 2. We’re so excited that schools are now delving into this data and starting to get involved in a variety of follow-up opportunities, including the Child Outcomes Research Consortium’s one-to-one sessions, the #BeeWell Young Researchers Programme and signing up for summer term’s The Politics Project: Digital Dialogues.

If you work with schools in Greater Manchester and want any more information on current school activities and opportunities, please get in touch with beewell@manchester.ac.uk.
