Latest Headline Findings reports from Greater Manchester and HIPS now live!

This is the time of year that we share the findings from the Autumn 2024 #BeeWell survey. Having now heard from more than 130,000 young people over the past 4 years, #BeeWell is the biggest survey of its kind in the UK!

The second of our Headline Findings reports was released this week, sharing insights from Greater Manchester. Key topics and standout statistics have been chosen by our GM Youth Steering Group, including:

  • 60% of young people (3 in 5) report that they feel like they belong at school.
  • 1 in 10 young people are eating 5 portions of fruit and veg per day, and 1 in 10 young people tell us that the food in their house didn’t last and there wasn’t enough money to buy more, most days.
  • 1 in 3 young people in Year 10 are meeting the recommended 1 hour a day of physical activity, but this drops to only 23% of girls, just less than 1 in 4.

How Great Oaks School is boosting school belonging and enabling positive relationships

Great Oaks is a large secondary school in Southampton for pupils with a variety of learning difficulties, social and emotional difficulties and health needs. The school uses both the short and symbol versions of the #BeeWell survey to understand the strengths and needs of their pupils when it comes to wellbeing, and to help make sure that everyone’s views are heard.

Take a look at how Great Oaks School has been boosting school belonging and enabling positive relationships for wellbeing in our blog post here [gregsonfoundation.us8.list-manage.com].

How The Difference are using #BeeWell survey questions to support school improvement

The Difference use an adapted version of the #BeeWell survey with schools as part of their leadership programmes. “Schools tell us that the wellbeing survey has been instrumental in their school improvement work – informing how they become a more inclusive place”

We discuss the value of wellbeing data and whole-school inclusion with Kit Rooney, Research, Impact & Influence Officer at The Difference in our latest Spotlight On blog [gregsonfoundation.us8.list-manage.com].
