Record participation and growing momentum in youth voice and wellbeing measurement made 2025 a standout year for #BeeWell, showing the real power of listening to young people and acting on their insights.
More than 75,000 young people participated in the 2025 #BeeWell survey – our highest number to date. This unprecedented level of engagement has strengthened our understanding of children and young people’s wellbeing and reinforced the importance of robust, consistent wellbeing measurement.
The year was also defined by strong partnership working and cross-sector collaboration. We continued to embed youth voice and wellbeing measurement into decision-making processes, while platforming the inspiring work being led by young people and partners using their local #BeeWell data to create change.
A Year of Progress: Our Wellbeing, Our Voice
2025 has been a landmark year for the Our Wellbeing, Our Voice campaign, which calls on the government to implement a national wellbeing measurement programme for children and young people across England.
In January, Munira Wilson MP tabled an amendment to the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, backed by our coalition and supported by cross-party MPs. By September, the proposal gained further traction: fourteen peers referenced it during Committee Stage in the House of Lords, highlighting the value of wellbeing data from perspectives including education, economics, and public health.
The campaign also reached a wider audience through coverage in achieving coverage in Schools Week, CYP Now and multiple articles in the Times, showcasing the support of Members of the House of Lords including former Education Secretary Lord Blunkett and former Cabinet Secretary Lord O’Donnell. Reinforcing the case for a nationwide system to track pupils’ wellbeing and ensure their voices are reflected in policy.
Key voices like Lord Gus O’Donnell, alongside education leaders, economists, and youth advocates, have helped keep the issue firmly on the national agenda. Most importantly, young people themselves have led the way, speaking directly to decision-makers to ensure consistent, high-quality data captures their experiences and shapes policy.
With a coalition of over 50 organisations, growing political support, and strong public interest, 2025 has been a pivotal year for children and young people’s wellbeing. The message is clear: measuring wellbeing matters and momentum is building.
