Hayden Ginns, Assistant Director, Children’s Services, Portsmouth City Council and NHS Place
Hayden Ginns is Assistant Director for Children (Performance and Commissioning) across Portsmouth City Council and Portsmouth ICB Place (NHS). Hayden has worked in Portsmouth for 26 years in a variety of roles across children’s services.
Between 1997 and 2006, Hayden managed the Special Projects Team within the City Council’s Local Education Authority, developing education and support for children and young people excluded from school. Since 2006, Hayden has held a number of strategic commissioning and change management roles on behalf of the Portsmouth Children’s Trust and the Portsmouth Safeguarding Children’s Partnership. In 2019, Hayden was appointed to a joint AD role between Portsmouth City Council and Portsmouth CCG, overseeing all local authority and health commissioning and service improvement.
Since April 2022, Hayden has been working with partners across Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Southampton and Portsmouth, shaping up the five-year health strategy for children and young people.
Hayden was awarded an MBE for services to young people in 2001.
He lives in Portsmouth with his partner and their two grown-up children.
