How schools are responding to #BeeWell data

Schools hold the key to unlocking the potential of #BeeWell data. Interacting with young people on a daily basis means they are best-placed to respond appropriately and effectively in the context of their community.

We work side by side with partner schools to ensure they have information and support to make a difference to the wellbeing of their students. A confidential school-level dashboard provides clear insights into the wellbeing of their students, enables comparisons with similar schools and informs school improvement plans. In addition, the Child Outcomes Research Consortium (part of the Anna Freud Centre) provides bespoke one-to-one sessions to support schools to interpret their results and identify pathways for action.

Schools have excelled at embedding youth voice throughout their responses to the data, and have made a range of significant improvements to student wellbeing, including:

  • Offering a greater variety of extracurricular activities to boost physical activity
  • Enhancing the nutritional value of food provision
  • Strengthening the school-pupil connection
  • Supporting pupils to better navigate social media
  • Improving school connectedness
